About me

Hello and welcome. If you have found your way here you may be looking for some support to help you navigate something difficult or distressing in your life. That takes real courage. Making contact with a counsellor can be nerve wracking and scary; no doubt you might be feeling a bit nervous or confused about what counselling actually is, how it works and how it might help you. I hope that the information here might help to answer your questions and reassure you. 

* Perhaps you worry or obsess about things or often feel like something bad is going to happen?

* Maybe you doubt whether you can do things, feel overwhelmed with what you need to do or believe that you are just not good enough?

* Perhaps you feel like you don’t fit in, that other people do not like you or you find yourself feeling anxious and stressed in social situations?

* Maybe you feel confused by your feelings and struggle to understand or express them?  

No matter the problem, talking to someone in a place of safety and without the fear or judgement can really help to make sense of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. My aim is to provide you with a therapeutic space in which you feel cared about, respected and understood so that we can explore the distress and confusion you might be feeling sensitively and with compassion. 

Together, we can look to understand the problem; where it may have begun and how you might move forward. 

I do not believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach; what works well for one person might not work at all for another. I will offer a way of working which suits your individual needs and where you can feel empowered to make informed choices about your life.

I am an experienced counsellor who has worked with people from many different social and cultural backgrounds and with a wide range of issues. For an informal chat or if you have any questions about my practice or the process of therapy, please do get in touch. 

I offer face to face sessions in Ipswich and can also offer remote sessions held via video call or telephone.
